Bangkok: Thailand is fully prepared to host the 33rd SEA Games, with Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, extending an invitation to sports fans to register for the opening football match.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak, alongside Bangkok's Deputy Governor Sanon Wangsangboon and other key officials, participated in a public relations event to promote the competition venues and the organization of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.
The event highlighted the participation of prominent Thai athletes such as rhythmic gymnast Piyada Peeramathukorn, kickboxer Chainarong Yawanopas, team shooter Naphis Tortangphanit, and disabled table tennis player Rungroj Thainiyom. Dr. Kongsak acknowledged the venue change from Songkhla due to flooding, with new sites in Bangkok and Chonburi now finalized and information available for fans to reserve tickets.
Dr. Kongsak emphasized the competition's readiness and compliance with international standards. He assured that accommodation and venue preparations are complete and urged the public to stay informed about event details through various platforms. Registration for the opening ceremony at Rajamangala National Stadium and the first men's football match between Thailand and Timor is encouraged via the SEA Games website.
Deputy Governor Sanon Wangsangboon praised the collaborative efforts of government, private sectors, and sports organizations in preparing for the event. He emphasized the importance of these efforts in ensuring the competition meets international standards and garners support from all ASEAN member countries.
The 33rd SEA Games is scheduled from December 9-20, 2025, with team sports beginning on December 3. The 13th ASEAN Para Games will follow in January 2026 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
