Los angeles: The Thai women's volleyball team has achieved a milestone by securing a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games in the United States. This historic achievement follows their victory at the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
According to Thai News Agency, the final qualifying round for the women's volleyball competition at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles will feature 12 teams. The lineup includes one host team, the United States, and the champions from various regions: Thailand as the Asian champion, Canada as the North and Central American champion, and the European, African, and South American champions to be determined in upcoming championships.
Additionally, three teams will qualify through the 2027 World Championship, which will be held in Canada and the USA, and another three will qualify based on the best world rankings after the 2028 Nations League. With the United States, Canada, and Thailand already securing their spots, nine more teams will have the opportunity to qualify, completing the 12-team roster for the Olympic Games.
