Hat yai: Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat spearheaded a Ministry of Education initiative to survey schools in Hat Yai and deployed a vocational team to assist in repairing household electrical appliances.
According to Thai News Agency, Prof. Dr. Narumon, accompanied by Mr. Suthep Kaengsanthia, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and representatives from various educational agencies, including the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), the Department of Learning Promotion (DLPRP), and the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), visited the Hat Yai District in Songkhla Province. The delegation aimed to oversee the post-flood recovery efforts and extend assistance to the affected local residents.
In the morning, Prof. Dr. Narumon participated in meal preparation at the Thammanat Prompao Foundation's charity kitchen, situated in front of the Signature Hotel. She also expressed her support for the volunteer team from the Kla Tham Party, comprising over 600 individuals from Narathiwat and Yala provinces. The team collaborated to clean and restore public spaces, roads, and communities impacted by the flooding in Hat Yai District.
Prof. Dr. Narumon highlighted the Ministry of Education's comprehensive involvement in the recovery mission. The Office of the Vocational Education Commission dispatched eight teams of vocational students under the Fix It Center project. Each team, consisting of five students and equipped with necessary tools, was tasked with inspecting and repairing electrical equipment and household systems in District 8 to aid affected residents.
Later, Prof. Dr. Narumon assessed the damage at Ban Bueng Phichai School, Ban Wang Rang School, and Hat Yai Charoenrat Pittaya School. She assured that the Ministry of Education would continue to provide support for the restoration of disaster-affected areas, focusing on school repairs, student and family assistance, and backing for education sector personnel, to facilitate a swift return to normalcy for the community.
