Bangkok: Bangkok expects the air to improve next week, with less dust. As for Work From Home, it needs to be discussed again.
According to Thai News Agency, data from the Bangkok Air Quality Data Center, the Meteorological Department, and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency indicated that the air quality remains at the orange level, which begins to affect health. At 7:00 a.m., PM 2.5 dust level was recorded between 40.1-71.1 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3), showing a downward trend compared to the same time on February 1.
Forecasts suggest that the air quality will stay at the orange level on Monday and Tuesday next week. However, starting Wednesday and continuing through the week, improved ventilation is expected, although winds from the south could bring in more moisture, dust, and water vapor. Continuous monitoring will be necessary.
Regarding Work From Home policies, similar criteria apply, and further discussions are required. Satellite data from NASA showed no hotspots in Bangkok, indicating that most dust sources originate outside the city. Coordination with relevant agencies is necessary to address burning activities contributing to dust levels.
