Seoul: Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, the brand's first foldable smartphone, aiming to reclaim its position as the leader in innovation in the foldable smartphone market amid fierce competition from Chinese mobile phone manufacturers.
According to Thai News Agency, yesterday Samsung Electric officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, the brand's first tri-fold smartphone, in Seoul, South Korea, after fans had been waiting for it to be launched by a Chinese brand. Samsung has gathered the advantages of more than 16 Fold and Flip smartphone models into this device.
The key highlight is the Dual Titanium Hinges, which are designed to allow the main screen to fold together in the middle when not in use, unlike competitors like the Huawei Mate XT, which has the screen on the outside when folded. This method provides much better protection for the main screen when unfolded. At its thinnest point, it is only 3.9 mm, and the device weighs only 309 grams, and is water and dust resistant to IP48 standards.
The main screen inside, when fully unfolded, will be 10 inches in size with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,584 pixels. The OneUI 8 operating system or Android 16 supports opening 3 applications simultaneously in full screen. And for the first time, there is a Standalone Samsung DeX, turning your phone into a computer without having to connect to an external screen. Just connect the mouse and keyboard and it works immediately, including a battery that can charge quickly, charging 50% in just 30 minutes.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold comes in a single color, Crafted Black, priced at 3.59 million won (approximately 78,250 baht). It is scheduled to go on sale this Friday, December 12, in South Korea first. The list of countries where it will be available later this year includes China, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, but there is no release date yet for Thailand.
