Democrat Party Hosts “Go 27!! 27 Unstoppable Forces” Event to Promote Clean Air

Bangkok: The Democrat Party organized the "Go 27!! 27 Unstoppable Forces" event, bringing together supporters and the public for a walk and run campaign focused on promoting clean air. The event featured party leader and prime ministerial candidate Abhisit Vejjajiva, along with party executives such as Korn Chatikavanij, Dr. Kardee Leowpairoj, and Sathit Wongnongteuy, the party's Bangkok MP candidate.

According to Thai News Agency, the event commenced at 7:00 AM at the Railway Park, near the Amazon Coffee shop. Participants were encouraged to wear sportswear and choose between walking a short distance or running over 10 kilometers, symbolizing the Democrat Party's number 27. At 7:27 AM, the party launched a clean air campaign before releasing runners and walkers to the PTT market, where they engaged with the public in a friendly atmosphere.

Abhisit Vejjajiva addressed the party's readiness in the final stretch of the election campaign. He highlighted the significance of the 27th as an auspicious date for the party list candidate and outlined two key policies: a clean air policy and an electricity policy to be detailed closer to election day. He emphasized the need to address severe pollution levels and Thailand's future governance.

Abhisit stressed the importance of transparent governance and combating corruption, promising that the Democrat Party would serve as a "government controller" if elected. He highlighted the party's focus on sustainable development and resolving social conflicts through common ground.

The public's response was positive, with many expressing a desire for change and rejecting vote buying. Abhisit urged the public to view August 8th as an opportunity to restart the country with sustainable economic growth and integrity.

Regarding coalition possibilities, Abhisit stated that the party has not held discussions with other political parties but would cooperate based on principles and economic direction. He also discussed the Clean Air Act, noting some objections from the private sector but emphasizing the need for solutions acceptable to all parties.

Abhisit concluded by expressing his intent to meet people in every area, apologizing to provinces he could not visit during the campaign, and thanking the public for their warm welcome.
