Bangkok: Thanakorn Wangboonkhongchana, the Minister of Industry, has pledged to address economic and industrial challenges in Thailand, committing to significant improvements within 120 days. His efforts focus on enhancing liquidity and tackling SME debt through both immediate and long-lasting measures.
According to Thai News Agency, the newly appointed Minister, along with Deputy Minister Petty Officer 1st Class Yotsing Liamlert, commenced their roles at the Ministry of Industry by honoring the ministry's sacred objects. Their primary mission is to aid Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, who are facing challenges from the US trade war and the influx of Chinese goods into the Thai market. The ministers outlined plans to implement both short-term and long-term strategies to boost liquidity, manage debt, and facilitate access to capital for SMEs.
The ministers stressed the importance of not exploiting the privileges granted to SMEs and committed to continuing the policies of former Minister Ekkanat Promphan. The focus will be on promoting the electric vehicle industry and adhering to the "Go All the Way" approach. Thanakorn assured that reputable factories would receive support, while illegal operations would be addressed firmly. The overarching goal is to ensure that within 120 days, significant improvements are realized in the Thai industry, particularly for SMEs in accessing crucial capital.
