Bangkok: Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has firmly denied allegations of meddling in the management of Dusit Thani Public Company Limited, stating that it is neither a major shareholder nor a joint investor in the company. The management of Dusit Thani remains under the control of its major shareholder, Chanat and Sons Company Limited.
According to Thai News Agency, Central Pattana Public Company Limited has clarified its role in Dusit Thani. The company holds a 17.09% share in Dusit Thani, with 145,238,320 shares. Since 2017, Central Pattana has been a joint venture partner with Dusit Thani in the development of the Dusit Central Park project, investing over 20 billion baht. The project, which includes a hotel, an office building, and the Central Park shopping center, opened on September 4th and has received positive feedback. The total value of the Dusit Central Park project exceeds 46 billion baht.
Central Pattana highlighted that its involvement, such as nominating a representative at Dusit Thani's shareholders' meeting, is based on the proportional shareholding approach, a standard investment management practice. This approach ensures Central Pattana's participation without exerting control over Dusit Thani.
Central Pattana emphasized that Chanat and Sons Co., Ltd., as Dusit Thani's major shareholder, retains full authority in decision-making processes. Central Pattana has no influence over these processes and is prepared to take legal action against any false claims that could mislead the public.
