Case of Missing Money and Gold at Wat Muang Under Investigation

Bangkok: The case involving the disappearance of substantial assets from Wat Muang, specifically from the quarters of the abbot, has raised concerns due to inconsistencies in the reported details. The incident involves the missing property of Phra Ratcha Wachiraphatthanatorn, the abbot of Wat Muang in Bang Khae District, which reportedly includes 10 million baht in cash and 300 baht of gold. However, discrepancies have emerged regarding the actual amount of gold lost.

According to Thai News Agency, there are ongoing rumors that Phetkasem Police Station alongside Metropolitan Police Division 9 is preparing to conclude the investigation and forward the case to the Metropolitan Police Bureau. However, a high-ranking source clarified that the responsibility for the case remains with local authorities and police headquarters, contrary to the rumors suggesting an imminent transfer to the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

The investigation is focused on conflicting testimonies and the circumstances surrounding the reports of the missing assets. Authorities are working with multiple agencies to get to the bottom of the case. There is a possibility of legal action against individuals providing false statements, although details on these individuals remain undisclosed. Additionally, new suspicious information suggests that the amount of gold reported to be missing does not align with the actual loss. It has also been revealed that the gold was sold at a gold shop, although the specific amount sold has not been clarified.
