People’s Party and Bhumjaithai Party Use Numbered Signs Amid Senate Collusion Case

Bangkok: The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and the Bhumjaithai Party have adopted unique tactics involving numbered signs as the second reading of the 2017 budget debate commences. The PDRC displayed blue signs bearing the number 229, related to the Senate collusion case, while the Bhumjaithai Party used orange signs with the number 44 in its defense. According to Thai News Agency, during the evening session of the House of Representatives' second reading of the 2027 Budget Bill, some MPs from the People's Party displayed signs with the number "229" against a blue background. These signs, worn as business card-sized badges and placed on tables, are believed to represent the number of Senators and Bhumjaithai Party MPs implicated in the Senate collusion case. The People's Party is closely watching the Election Commission (EC) to determine if the case will be referred to the Supreme Court on September 14th. The Bhumjaithai Party, on the other hand, displayed a sign with the number "44" in orange , as demonstrated by Mr. Thanayot Timsuwan, a Bhumjaithai Party MP from Loei. This number symbolizes the 44 former MPs from the Move Forward Party who proposed amendments to Article 112 of the Criminal Code.
