Bangkok: "Thai Helps Thai" is set to launch on May 1st, covering all 710 districts nationwide. The initiative aims to provide essential goods at affordable prices directly to people in every area, with online ordering also available.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government is preparing to officially launch the "Thai Helps Thai" project on May 1, 2026. This move is intended to alleviate the cost of living and stimulate the grassroots economy at the local level through a nationwide sale of affordable goods.
As of April 29, 2026, Thailand has a total of 878 districts. Currently, there are 710 "Thai Helps Thai" sales points in 76 provinces (excluding Bangkok), and an additional 168 districts are being allocated to ensure full coverage. The private sector is actively involved in this initiative, with cooperation from modern wholesale and retail businesses including Lotus's, Big C, Makro, Tops, and Go Wholesale.
The government has distributed points to over 710 district offices nationwide to ensure widespread access to affordable consumer goods. Citizens can find details on distribution points through provincial announcements for convenience. In addition to in-store sales, the government has opened online channels through platforms such as 7-Eleven, Grab, and Shopee, using a "Thai Helps Thai" icon to streamline purchases.
The project will offer essential goods such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other consumer products at discounted prices at district offices nationwide, starting simultaneously on May 1, 2026, and available every Friday throughout May.
Ms. Lalida emphasized that this project is not just about reducing prices but making 'affordable essentials' accessible to people in every district, while simultaneously stimulating money circulation within communities from the grassroots level.
