“Thai GI Coffee” Sales Surpass 1.49 Billion Baht, Boosting Market Value

Bangkok: “Thai GI Coffee” has achieved remarkable sales milestones, with the market value surpassing 1.49 billion baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Intellectual Property has disclosed that 11 items from eight provinces have been registered, generating over 1,497 million baht in revenue by 2025.

The top five Thai GI coffees with the highest sales have generated a combined value of over 1,318 million baht. Leading the sales is Doi Suan Ya Luang coffee from Nan province, valued at 526 million baht. Following this is Ranong coffee, which has achieved sales worth 262 million baht. Khao Thalu Coffee from Chumphon comes next with a value of 234 million baht, and Doi Chang Coffee from Chiang Rai has generated 160 million baht. Notably, Doi Chang Coffee is registered as a Geographical Indication (GI) in both the European Union and Japan. Lastly, Tham Sing Coffee from Chumphon has recorded sales of 136 million baht.

These statistics highlight the value and distinct characteristics of Thai coffee, as well as the market’s confidence in and acceptance of Thai GI coffee both domestically and internationally. The Department of Intellectual Property is committed to further enhancing Thai GI coffee to create added value, distribute income to communities, and improve the competitiveness of Thai coffee on the global stage.
