Bangkok: The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) reports that flooding in the southern region is likely to decrease. The SRT has provided an update on the flooding situation affecting railways in the lower southern region. In Phatthalung Province, water levels at stations and along the railway have steadily receded, allowing Civil Engineering and Signaling personnel to repair damaged tracks and signaling systems. Consequently, train service on the southern line to Phatthalung has resumed.
According to Thai News Agency, despite receding water levels at Hat Yai Junction Station, flooding persists. To ensure commuter safety, the SRT has announced the cancellation of six trains and changes to the origin and destination stations for eight trains, effective from November 28, 2025, until conditions improve. The affected trains include Special Express Train No. 37/38 and No. 45/46, which have altered their routes to Krungthep Aphiwat - Phatthalung - Krungthep Aphiwat. Express trains No. 83/84 and No. 167/168 have also changed their routes, requiring transfers or unloading at Thung Song.
Six train services have been cancelled, including Special Express Train No. 31/32 and Express trains No. 169/170 and No. 171/172. However, Express trains No. 85/86 will resume normal operations to support travel in the southern region.
The SRT apologizes for any inconvenience and assures passengers who have purchased tickets in advance for affected routes that a full refund is available at any train station nationwide. Passengers are advised to verify train schedules through SRT's public relations channels before traveling. Real-time schedules and locations can be accessed online, and further information can be obtained by contacting any train station or the 24-hour Customer Service Center.
