According to Thai News Agency, the allegations were initially brought to light through social media posts on April 4, 2026, with victims claiming they were extorted by the officer. In response, the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Police have initiated criminal proceedings against the officer and have informed the victim of the ongoing legal actions. Evidence is currently being gathered to support these proceedings.

Disciplinary measures have also been enacted by the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Police. A committee has been established to investigate the serious disciplinary violations, leading to the officer's suspension pending the outcome of further investigations.
