Bangkok: 'Open Krua Dee Prom Soft Power Thai Food' brings together a host of delicious menus made from local ingredients. The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM) has launched the "Opens DIPROM Kitchen, Soft Power Thai Food, Delicious Food at DIPROM" initiative, showcasing the best of Thai cuisine crafted from local ingredients to create unique and distinctive dishes.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, emphasized the ministry's commitment to boosting the soft power of Thailand in the realms of fashion and food. Recognizing Thailand's global reputation as the 'Kitchen of the World,' he noted that the goal is to elevate Thai cuisine to an international stature. This involves developing Thai food brands that are recognized globally, reflecting not only the rich science of nutrition but also the cultural and charming aspects of Thainess.
Ms. Natthaya Netyasupa, Director-General of DIPROM, highlighted the department's efforts to drive Thai soft power in the culinary sector through the "DIPROM Community, Here We Give" policy. This strategy focuses on providing new skills, upgrading existing ones (Upskill), and creating necessary new skills (Reskill) for the creative industry. The aim is to develop and enhance products using technology, innovation, and DIPROM's resources to meet market demands, thereby adding value to products through identity and local wisdom. The event "Open Kitchen DIPROM, Soft Power Thai Food, Delicious at DIPROM" aligns with these strategies, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of local ingredients in creating unique dishes that can enhance community reputation, create jobs, and generate income.
The event, held from March 3 to 7, 2025, features cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, online market communication, and exhibitions and sales of community products. It gathers community products and renowned restaurants from across Thailand, offering visitors the opportunity to shop, see, and taste at more than 80 stalls.
