Bangkok: The Ministry of Finance is set to launch the “Thai Help Thai Plus” campaign on June 1, inviting the public to engage with the spending initiative. The campaign, under the Thai Help Thai Plus (60/40) program, aims to stimulate spending and support local businesses by offering substantial subsidies.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Vinit Visetsuwannapoom, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, urged citizens to take advantage of the benefits offered by the Thai Help Thai Plus project. The program will be available from June 1 to September 30, 2026, allowing participants to spend between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM via the “Paotang” application. Under the scheme, individuals will receive a 60% subsidy on eligible purchases from participating merchants, with a daily cap of 200 baht and a monthly cap of 1,000 baht. Unused funds will not roll over to subsequent months.
Krungthai Bank has readied its payment systems to facilitate transactions via the “Paotang” application. Citizens are encouraged to preload their G-Wallets before the project’s commencement or can make incremental top-ups around the clock. Additionally, from June 15 to September 30, 2026, participants can use the application to order from approved food delivery platforms during designated hours.
As of May 31, 2026, 721,644 merchants have registered for the program, comprising both existing and new businesses. The ongoing registration process includes 329,454 stores in the application stage, 325,844 stores awaiting terms acceptance, and 3,610 stores pending verification.
The Ministry’s spokesperson highlighted the project’s popularity, noting over 26 million registered users. Businesses are encouraged to register, with those previously participating in the “Half-Price Plus” project having until September 30, 2026, to confirm their involvement. New applicants have until July 31, 2026, to register. Businesses must verify their participation through the “Tung Ngern” application to ensure they can accept payments.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, along with Krung Thai Bank executives, are scheduled to visit Or Tor Kor Market in Chatuchak District, Bangkok, on June 1 to assess the readiness of shops and the public’s use of the campaign benefits.
