Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand has directed the SAT offices in Surin, Ubon, Sisaket, and Buriram to prepare facilities to assist and support in the event of clashes occurring in these border provinces.
According to Thai News Agency, the Army has reported incidents of clashes at the Thai-Cambodian border, specifically in Prasat Ta Muen Thom and Prasat Ta Kwai in Surin Province, the Sai Taku Checkpoint in Ban Kruat District of Buriram Province, Khao Phra Wihan in Kantharalak District of Sisaket Province, and Chong An Ma in Nam Yuen District of Ubon Ratchathani Province. Additionally, there have been reports of weapons being fired into community areas at the Border Area Development Center in Kap Choeng District, Surin Province.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), expressed his support for the soldiers currently deployed and assured that the SAT is prepared to offer its facilities, including multi-purpose gymnasiums and provincial stadiums, to assist affected areas. These venues may be utilized as coordination centers, medical and public health facilities, kitchens, or temporary shelters to ensure public safety and security. The SAT offices in the four affected provinces are ready to collaborate with local authorities to safeguard the well-being of residents in these border communities.
