Royal Thai Army Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Surin Airfield

Surin: The 2nd Army Region has clarified the incident involving an emergency landing of a H.T.212 helicopter at Surin Phakdi Airfield. The 2nd Army Area Command wishes to clarify that on December 22, 2025, at approximately 5:19 PM, a Royal Thai Army helicopter, model H.T.212, experienced an emergency landing operation at Surin Phakdi Airfield in Surin Province. This resulted in injuries to the aircraft's crew. Authorities immediately controlled the situation and provided assistance to the injured, without any impact on the safety of the public in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, those injured in the incident include Major Suchart Nakcharoen, who suffered an impact injury to his right foot, though no fractures were found. Lieutenant Arinch Ananyuthasakun, the co-pilot, sustained minor injuries. Mechanic Sergeant Major Kittipong Chimthai injured his right ankle and is currently undergoing further diagnosis due to a suspected fracture. Sgt. Ekkarin Chitrit, another mechanic, suffered a minor injury to his right ankle. All injured personnel have been taken to Weerawat Yothin Camp Hospital for treatment, where they are under close medical supervision. Their overall condition is stable.

Regarding the cause of the accident, an investigation is currently underway by the relevant committee, in accordance with the regulations and procedures of the Royal Thai Army, to obtain accurate, complete, and fair facts in all aspects. The 2nd Army Area prioritizes the safety of its personnel and will report on the progress accordingly.
