Bangkok: Progress on the new cabinet has been confirmed as Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, takes on an additional role as the Minister of Culture. Ms. Shinawatra, who is preparing to present the new cabinet list to His Majesty the King, will be overseeing the Ministry of Culture alongside her duties as Prime Minister.
According to Thai News Agency, the reshuffle includes Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitchkosol transitioning from her role as Minister of Culture to become the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai will continue his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense while also serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
In other appointments, Mr. Jakrapob Sangmanee will be the Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Mr. Pongkawin Juangroongruangkit, nephew of Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Transport, will assume the role of Minister of Labor. Ms. Linthiporn Warinwatcharoj, an MP for the Pheu Thai Party, is expected to become Deputy Minister of Education.
For the Kla Tham Party, Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat will take over as Minister of Education, while Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn becomes Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Captain Anudith Nakornthap and Mr. Chantavit Tanthasit will both serve as Deputy Ministers of Education, with Mr. Tanthasit being the son of Mr. Thakorn Tanthasit.
The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party has announced that Mr. Chatuporn Buruspat will lead the Ministry of Commerce as its minister. However, the position of Mr. Suchart Chomklin remains uncertain, as discussions continue over whether he will serve as Deputy Minister of the Interior or retain his current role as Deputy Minister of Commerce.
In the Democrat Party, Mr. Decha Isara Khaothong will move from Deputy Minister of Public Health to Deputy Minister of Interior, while Mr. Chaichana Dechadecho, MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, is set to replace him. The Chartthaipattana Party will see Mr. Anucha Sasomsap take on the role of Deputy Minister of Public Health.
