Bangkok: The wedding of Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, former Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, and Ms. Kathleen Malynont was held at the Grand Ballroom, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok, with Mr. Worawit Kangsasitheam, former President of the Constitutional Court, presiding over the ceremony. The event saw a significant turnout of political and business figures who gathered to extend their congratulations to the couple.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony was attended by several prominent figures from the political sphere, notably Deputy Prime Ministers and ministers. Among them were Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, and Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice. Key members of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party were also present, including Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, and Ms. Pimpattra Wichakul, among others.
Additionally, several notable officials such as Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, and Mrs. Natjaree Anantasilpa, Secretary-General to the Cabinet, were in attendance. Representatives from the Democrat Party, including Mr. Banyat Bantadtan and Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, also graced the occasion.
From the business community, figures such as Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of BTS Group Holdings, and Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Energy Development, were present. However, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was absent but sent a congratulatory gift to the couple. He is scheduled to visit Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala provinces on February 23 as an advisor to the ASEAN Chair.
Former Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, who was personally invited by Mr. Thanakorn and Ms. Kathleen, did not attend the ceremony. Despite his absence, the event was marked by the presence of notable personalities from both political and business circles, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
