PM Not Shocked by Kiki’s Chaos in Parliament, Says It’s Up to Interpretation

Bangkok: PM Paethongtarn Shinawatra expressed her lack of surprise over the chaos caused by "Kiki" in parliament, emphasizing that it is open to interpretation. She refrained from giving the opposition any advantage on the first day of the censure debate, urging instead for mutual encouragement among members.

According to Thai News Agency, when asked by the media about the incident involving Kiki and whether it was perceived as slang or incomprehensible, Prime Minister Shinawatra mentioned that she had just been made aware of it. She stated that she was not shocked because the meaning wasn't immediately clear to her.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejchai, suggested that the public search Google for clarity on the term. The Prime Minister acknowledged this suggestion, noting that she had seen various interpretations online but found them inconclusive, leaving it open for individual interpretation.

In response to inquiries regarding her evaluation of the opposition's performance during the no-confidence debate's first day, Prime Minister Shinawatra emphasized the importance of mutual encouragement. Before concluding the interaction with the media, she briefly commented on the debate's progress, stating simply, "It's good."
