Phumtham does not know whether the Prime Minister has submitted a new cabinet for royal approval yet, but believes it will be soon because he wants everyone to do their duty. He insists that there are no problems in Pheu Thai and he is not worried about the Sisaket by-election and that Bhumjaithai is a competitor.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, addressed speculation regarding the submission of the Paethongtarn 2 cabinet list for royal approval. He stated that while he is unaware of the current status, the Prime Minister is eager to expedite the process to ensure all members can fulfill their responsibilities promptly. Phumtham remains optimistic that the process will conclude swiftly.
Phumtham also mentioned uncertainty regarding his future role, apart from continuing as Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs due to ongoing commitments. He is awaiting the Prime Minister's decision on any additional responsibilities. He noted that all members are in a similar situation, confirming that changes are forthcoming, but specific roles remain undecided.
Addressing the status of the Pheu Thai Party, Phumtham emphasized that the party has consistently remained problem-free. He reassured that discussions with relevant parties have resolved any concerns, and they are currently waiting for the Prime Minister's considerations.
Regarding the recent passing of Mr. Amorntep Sommai, MP for Sisaket from the Pheu Thai Party, Phumtham acknowledged the need for a by-election within 45 days. He expressed condolences and indicated that candidate selection would proceed after the funeral proceedings.
In response to queries about competition from the Bhumjaithai Party in the Sisaket area, Phumtham expressed confidence, stating, "I'm not worried. I'm not worried."
