Neem Tree Farming Yields Daily Income in Prachin Buri.

Prachin Buri: Growing neem trees for sale is proving to be a lucrative venture for Mrs. Amara Seedam, a 59-year-old resident of Ban Khlong Malao, in the Nong Ki Subdistrict of Kabin Buri District. Adhering to the principles of a sufficiency economy, Mrs. Seedam practices mixed farming on her 8-rai land, allowing her to harvest and sell produce all year round. Currently, the neem trees in her garden are in full bloom, generating a daily income of one thousand baht. According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Seedam's garden is part of a project to implement the philosophy of the sufficiency economy in the cooperative settlement area, known locally as Pa Lor's garden. Her diverse cultivation includes mulberries, durian, rose apples, and galangal, among other produce. However, it is the Dawai neem variety, known for its sweet taste and mild bitterness, that is presently providing a steady stream of income. With over 50 organically grown neem trees, Mrs. Seedam is able to harvest between 50 to 60 kilograms daily, sellin g them at a rate of 120 baht per kilogram. Auntie Lo, as Mrs. Seedam is affectionately known, explained that the neem trees have been cultivated without chemicals for more than eight years. The blooming period lasts until the end of February, ensuring a consistent supply for several months. Her commitment to organic farming and the growing popularity of the Dawai neem variety highlight the potential of neem tree farming as a sustainable and profitable agricultural practice.
