Bangkok: Lawyer Witthayu admits to being shocked after viewing a clip of a female complainant impersonating a government official to extort money from his client, Boss Paul. Witoon Kaengngan, representing Waratphon Woratworakul, known as Boss Paul, visited the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to provide crucial insights following his prison visit with Boss Paul. The lawyer disclosed a clip in which a female complainant pretended to be Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, a Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to extort funds. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Witoon outlined three primary issues to investigators. The first issue involved the timeline of payments totaling 750,000 baht, with initial cash payment of 300,000 baht followed by a bank transfer of 450,000 baht. The second issue revolved around an audio clip where the complainant mentioned the Water Minister, leading to significant revelations for Boss Paul. The complainant's claims about payments to the minister's father provided clarity on Bos s Paul's previous confusion about the necessity of payments. The third issue questioned the legitimacy of payments to alleged victims, as some falsely claimed to be victims while consuming and selling their products. Mr. Witoon mentioned that the false audio clip was believed to have been created before October, adding complexity to the existing extortion complaint against the female complainant. It remains the investigators' decision whether additional charges should be pursued. The lawyer was previously unaware of the clip's existence, which had worried Boss Paul about potential connections within the Consumer Protection Board. In response to inquiries about political figure S., Mr. Witoon clarified that Boss Paul refrained from legal action due to their friendship and no payments were made to Mr. S., despite the release of an audio clip.
