Nonthaburi: The Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander revealed that the body of renowned journalist Nattawut has been seized after a substance was found in his body. However, it has not yet been confirmed to be cyanide. He emphasized that further testing and additional witnesses are required.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Major General Decharapee Kongdee, Commander of the Nonthaburi Provincial Police, addressed the death of Mr. Nattawut Ponglangka, a journalist and news anchor from a well-known channel, at his home in the Bang Kruai area of Nonthaburi Province. He stated that police have contacted relatives today to request custody of Mr. Nattawut's body after detecting a substance, but have not yet confirmed the report as cyanide, saying it is merely a rumor. The report from the institute that conducted the examination has not yet been submitted.
Police Major General Decharaphee added that the next step will be to re-examine the body and interview additional witnesses, as no one was suspicious at the time. Regarding whether to send it back for further examination at the Ministry of Justice's Institute of Forensic Science or the Police General Hospital's Institute of Forensic Medicine, a further review will be made. A re-examination will definitely be required, as the cremation is scheduled for December 6th. Therefore, the body must be detained pending further investigation to determine the cause of death. Initial questioning has already been conducted.
