Guiyang: During China's war against Japanese aggression and global resistance to fascism, a story has been passed down from generation to generation that the invaders attempted to seize the original copy of Si Ku Quan Shu (The Book of the Four Reigns) in Wenlan Hall. Chinese antiquities authorities transported the book and traveled far west to protect the priceless cultural heritage, eventually reaching Guiyang. The guards then hid the book, a treasure trove of knowledge, in the Dimu Grottoes, where it was safely stored for five years and eight months.
According to Thai News Agency, Jos© Luis Fonseca Conejo and Ghariammadova Sabzon, who had previously followed the historical route of the relocation of several universities to Guizhou during the war, continued their quest to understand how the treasure trove of knowledge, the 'Sikhuansu,' survived the invasion. Sabzon contacted Gong Qingmin, a fellow Guizhou native, to explore the terrain of Guizhou Province, which had become a cultural refuge during the war.
Their first destination was Luchongguan National Park. They met with Zhu Jiang, curator of the Wenlan Hall in Guiyang and son of the former director of the Guizhou Provincial Library. Zhu Jiang explained that the priceless cultural relic, "Sikhuansu," had been moved numerous times through Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Hunan provinces, eventually reaching Guizhou, where it was designated a hidden valley for the books to protect them from invaders. After the war ended, the books were safely transported back to Zhejiang Province.
The two students then traveled to the Huaxi District in Guiyang, where they learned that the area had once served as a refuge for many writers and scholars, including Ba Jin, who wrote "The Garden of Tranquility" while living along the Huaxi River.
In this exploration of Guiyang, Jos© Luis Fonseca Conejo and Ghari Mamadova Sabzon also investigated the history of Guizhou Radio Station on Diantai Street and learned that during the war, Guizhou residents were inspired by the "Zhu Guang," a music organization that energized and inspired them to stand up for their country.
