Bangkok: Narcotics Suppression Police are preparing to expand their search of a famous clinic in the Thonburi area after it ordered drugs from Dr. Air. It has been reported that the anti-corruption agency is preparing to discuss with the Ministry of Public Health.
According to Thai News Agency, Narcotics Suppression Police 1 are advancing the investigation into the purchase of psychotropic substances, category 2 and 4, linked to "Dr. Air." The police are set to search a clinic in Thonburi implicated in purchasing these drugs. Officials are in the process of collecting evidence to present to the court for a search warrant, expected to be issued within the next 1-2 days.
Moreover, the police, along with the Anti-Corruption Division, the Anti-Money Laundering Office, and the National Anti-Corruption Commission, are preparing to collaborate with the Narcotics Suppression Bureau and the Ministry of Public Health. This collaboration aims to request further information on the case. Investigations revealed that medical records of 370 patients have been sold since the end of 2021 for 5,000 baht.
Among the 370 names investigated, a construction worker who allegedly fell from scaffolding and a bedridden patient who passed away about 10 years ago were found to be on the list to receive medication, despite having no records of treatment in a hospital in Bangkok or the Police General Hospital.
The Ministry of Public Health is preparing to gather evidence to file a lawsuit against Dr. Air and the owners of 12 clinics. They face charges of providing false information by using medical records of deceased individuals to order medications.
