Bangkok: Ministers gradually ascended the Thai Khu Fah building to offer support to the Prime Minister.
According to Thai News Agency, Pichai Chunhavajira revealed that Paetongtarn Shinawatra was in good spirits and hoped the situation would go smoothly, allowing the country to move forward without interruptions.
At Government House from 1:00 PM, ministers assembled at the Thai Khu Fah Building to support Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and to attend the Constitutional Court's ruling. The first to arrive was Justice Minister Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, leader of the Prachachat Party, who canceled all afternoon duties and switched to a Zoom meeting in the Green Room of the Thai Khu Fah Building before joining other ministers in the Purple Room to follow the Constitutional Court's ruling.
Other ministers who arrived at the Thai Khu Fah Building included Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office; Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports; Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance; Ms. Linthiporn Warinwatchararoj, Deputy Minister of Education; and Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Mr. Pichai expressed his consistent support for the Prime Minister. When questioned about the morale of the Prime Minister, Mr. Pichai stated that she was upbeat and believed everything would proceed smoothly, allowing the country to progress. Regarding the news of a potential deal switching sides, Mr. Pichai declined to comment, noting only that he is not very familiar with politics.
The upper part of the Thai Khu Fah building at Government House was utilized as a purple room, with seating provided for ministers and a TV for watching the live broadcast of the Constitutional Court's decision.
