Minister of Education Clarifies Political Affiliation at Teacher Awards Ceremony

Nonthaburi: Professor Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, shared a humorous incident during the "Prince Maha Chakri Teacher Award" ceremony in Nonthaburi Province, where a teacher mistakenly assumed she was affiliated with the Bhumjaithai Party. Professor Narumon quickly clarified that she is the leader of the Kla Tham Party and expressed her amicable relationship with Prime Minister Anutin.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place at the 2025 Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation (Thai Teachers) Network Teacher Awards Ceremony, organized by the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation and the Teachers Council of Thailand Secretariat, Ministry of Education. The event was attended by senior executives from the Ministry of Education and over 200 award-winning teachers. During her speech, Professor Narumon praised teachers for adapting to technological changes and highlighted their irreplaceable role in nurturing and inspiring students, especially in remote areas.

The Minister of Education announced plans to expand the "Good Teachers for Students Across Thailand" project, aiming to inspire students nationwide and address educational reforms. She emphasized the importance of tackling student dropouts and enhancing vocational education to develop skills for the new era.

After outlining her policies, a teacher approached Professor Narumon, expressing admiration for her policies and mistakenly associating her with the Bhumjaithai Party. Professor Narumon humorously corrected the teacher, reaffirming her leadership of the Kla Tham Party and her friendly ties with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Professor Narumon also elaborated on her decision to continue as Minister of Education, explaining that she chose the role to further the educational initiatives started during her first term. She expressed gratitude to the ministry's executives for their efforts in achieving sustainable educational progress.
