Bangkok: Minister Jiraporn Sindhuphrai has conveyed her congratulations on the 37th anniversary of the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT).
According to Thai News Agency, the Minister to the Prime Minister's Office highlighted the significant role that media plays as a refuge for people during crises.
Ms. Jiraporn joined Ms. Sudruthai Lertkasem, Director-General of the Public Relations Department, and Mr. Suppapong Chawlaen, Director of NBT, in celebrating this milestone. The event also saw participation from the executives of MCOT Public Company Limited, with Mr. Phatiyuth Chaisawang, Acting Director-General, and Mr. Sommai Suwanwong, Deputy Managing Director of Marketing and Sales, expressing their congratulations.
The Minister emphasized that in times of crisis, such as natural disasters or geopolitical tensions like the Thai-Cambodian border situation, the media serves as a critical support system for society. She stressed the importance of the media's role in combating fake news to prevent social panic, reaffirming its value as a societal refuge in both ordinary and extraordinary times.
