Krabi: A tour boat successfully rescued a capsized vessel near Koh Poda, Ao Nang Subdistrict, Mueang Krabi District, where four tourists were found clinging to their overturned boat amid challenging sea conditions. The tourists were safely transferred back to the tour boat following the incident.
According to Thai News Agency, the event transpired around 2:30 PM on November 6, 2015. A speedboat carrying tourists quickly intervened to assist the four foreign tourists, along with crew members and tour guides, who were stranded in the ocean, desperately awaiting help. The vessel had overturned after being struck by waves in the vicinity of Koh Poda.
The accident involved a long-tailed tourist boat, which was able to rescue the stranded individuals and transport them to the park ranger station on Koh Poda, part of the Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. Initial reports from park officials indicated that the incident took place during a time of strong seas. As the boat was heading back to shore with two Indian tourists, a tour guide, and a boat driver on board, it likely took on water and capsized. Fortunately, all individuals were equipped with life jackets, allowing them to stay afloat until help arrived. Another passing tour boat noticed the situation and was able to provide timely assistance.
