Former Government Official Sentenced to 120 Months for Forging Land Deeds

Bangkok: The Criminal Court for Corruption Cases has sentenced a former government official to 120 months in prison for forging land deeds.

According to Thai News Agency, the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 4 delivered the verdict following a detailed investigation led by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

On October 30, 2025, under the direction of Mr. Phumwisarn Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the NACC, and his team, including Deputy Secretary-Generals Mr. Ekachai Kasemsukthawat and Pol. Lt. Col. Siripong Sritula, the suspect was apprehended. The arrest took place in cooperation with officers from Satuk Police Station, Buriram Province, and the Central Investigation Bureau following an arrest warrant issued on September 26, 2025.

The former official, while serving as a senior land expert, colluded to forge 20 land title deeds. These deeds were used to fraudulently secure mortgages, causing damages amounting to 14 million baht. After the National Anti-Corruption Commission found him guilty, he failed to appear for indictment, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

On January 21, 2026, the court found the defendant guilty under various sections of the Criminal Code and the Act on Prevention and Suppression of Corruption. Despite the original sentence totaling 20 years for 20 counts, a confession and mitigating circumstances reduced the prison sentence to 120 months. Victims of the 14 million baht damages have filed a separate civil lawsuit.
