Fisherman Heroically Saves Two Boys from Drowning at Tasae Pier.

Hat Samran: Praise is pouring in for a young fisherman who courageously jumped into the sea to rescue two 11-year-old boys from drowning at Tasae Pier in Trang Province. According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage captured the harrowing incident, showing a group of children on the pier frantically calling for help. Two men were seen on a nearby boat, and upon hearing the cries, one of them swiftly reacted. He ran across the boat, onto the pier, removed his shirt, and plunged into the water to save the children. Further video footage recorded by villagers depicted the tense situation. Three children were in the water; one managed to swim back to safety, but two others appeared to be in grave danger. One boy could swim, but his companion, unable to swim, was at risk of drowning. The heroic fisherman, Mr. Witit Yanglang, known as Bao Tit, intervened just in time to help both boys reach the shore safely. Mr. Yanglang, 26, recounted the events of the evening. While working on a boat engine, he noticed the distr essed children. One boy had attempted to rescue his friend, who was drowning, but the panicked child inadvertently endangered them both. Prompted by his girlfriend's call, Mr. Yanglang acted without hesitation, diving into the water to rescue the boys. In recognition of his bravery, local authorities, including the Hat Samran District Chief, the Hat Samran Police Station Superintendent, and community leaders, visited Mr. Yanglang to express their gratitude. The District Chief commended his selflessness, stating that Mr. Yanglang prioritized the children's safety without regard for his own. Plans are underway to honor him with a certificate of honor at the next monthly meeting.
