Cement Mixer Driver Faints, Crashes into Sedan and Shop in Saraburi Province.

Saraburi: A cement mixer driver fainted and caused a significant accident at the traffic light intersection on Songkhon-Phra Bat Noi Road, Songkhon Subdistrict, Kaeng Khoi District. The incident occurred yesterday at 19.15 hrs when the driver lost consciousness, ran a red light, collided with a passing sedan, and subsequently crashed into a nearby shop, causing extensive damage. According to Thai News Agency, the driver of the cement mixer truck was initially stopped at the red light when he fainted, leading to the collision with another truck. This chain of events resulted in the truck running the red light and hitting a sedan before crashing into a shop next to the intersection. The shop owner and customers inside had to flee for their safety, and three parked motorcycles were also damaged in the crash. Police officers from Kaeng Khoi Police Station arrived on the scene to inspect the aftermath of the accident. They found the cement mixer truck embedded in the shop, which had been selling electrical appli ances. The crash caused significant damage to the shop and its inventory. The shop owner, Ms. Lamphrai, sustained injuries to her right leg and described the terrifying moment she witnessed the truck hurtling towards her business. Mr. Winai, the driver of the cement mixer truck, recounted that he was returning to a workers' camp in Phukae Subdistrict with another truck when he lost consciousness at the traffic light intersection. Upon regaining consciousness, he realized the accident had already occurred. He suspects his fainting episode was due to high blood pressure. Following the incident, police escorted Mr. Winai to Kaeng Khoi Police Station for questioning and conducted tests for drugs and alcohol. As of now, no charges have been filed, as authorities are still reviewing CCTV footage to determine the precise cause of the accident.
