Chiang Mai Police Discover Protected Wild Animals at Feng Shui Master’s Home.

Chiang Mai: The Central Investigation Police expanded their search of 'Tee Li Feng Shui's' house in Chiang Mai in connection with a fraud case, discovering protected wild animals and adding another charge to the investigation. Police officers from the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Suppression Division, along with relevant agencies, searched the residence located in Tambon Pa Phai, San Sai District. This house belongs to Mr. Thanawan, also known as Ajarn Odd or Tee Lee, a well-known fortune teller and feng shui master. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanawan is a suspect in a 'fraud-money laundering' case involving the sale of overpriced amulets, leading to damages amounting to 108 million baht. The search aimed to uncover evidence related to this fraud case. During the search, officers found a fully-grown male barking deer locked in a pen inside the two-story house. The animal was identified as a protected species, and there was no symbol or license for its possession issued by the Department of National Parks. This is a violation of the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562, specifically 'possession of protected wild animals without permission from an official.' The house caretaker revealed that the barking deer belonged to Mr. Thanawan and had been at the residence since the caretaker began working there. The caretaker also mentioned having seen other wild animals previously kept by Mr. Thanawan, which were removed due to noise complaints from local residents. The officers seized the barking deer and transported it to the Huai Yang Pan Wildlife Breeding Station in Hot District, Chiang Mai Province, for proper care. Evidence was recorded to support the prosecution of Mr. Thanawan for the illegal possession of protected wild animals.
