Poipet: Several parties suspect that the fire in the 25-story building in Poipet may have been a staged event, after an unidentified drone crashed into the building, causing a fire to ignite on the 24th floor. Yesterday evening, a fire broke out in a 25-story building in Poipet, Cambodia, opposite the Rong Kluea market, after an unidentified drone struck the building, causing a fire on the 24th floor. This incident has raised suspicions that it may have been a staged event intended to create the misunderstanding that it was a Thai operation.
According to Thai News Agency, the building is well-known as a hangout for scammers and call center gangs. Furthermore, a transformer explosion occurred inside the building on December 14th, and a gas explosion occurred on December 16th, leading many to believe that these incidents might be staged.
The news team obtained CCTV footage from the Thai side, which recorded the explosion. The explosion was very loud, and flames were seen immediately. The village defense volunteers said they only heard a loud noise and that similar incidents had occurred before, but they didn't know the details of what happened. Currently, they are just monitoring the situation and will immediately notify the authorities if anything happens.
Regarding the fighting in the area, yesterday the Cambodian side reinforced its troops in the areas of Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ta Phraya District, and Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, Khok Sung District. Therefore, clashes have been heard since this morning.
