Court Grants Bail to Nana Raibeena with Strict Conditions

Bangkok: The court has granted temporary release to "Nana Raibeena" on the condition that she not leave the country. The release was granted on bail set at 1 million baht, with the stipulation that she remains in the country unless she receives court permission to leave.

According to Thai News Agency, following the completion of the initial detention process, Nana Raibeena filed a request for temporary release during her detention period. The Criminal Court considered the matter and, based on a risk assessment report, determined that the accused was not likely to flee or commit other dangerous acts. Consequently, the court approved her temporary release pending investigation, with the condition that she report to the Immigration Bureau and adhere to the restrictions set by the court.

Mr. Suriyan Hongwilai, spokesman for the Court of Justice, elaborated on the court's decision to appoint counselors from the Criminal Court's psychosocial counseling clinic to oversee and provide counseling to Raibeena during her bail release. He explained that the initiative is part of the Criminal Court's efforts to monitor the accused's mental well-being and reduce the risk of reoffending. Counselors trained in psychosocial counseling are tasked with helping the accused manage stressful situations through motivational interviewing, aiming to provide mental relief and promote self-respect and self-worth.

The counseling process is designed to help the accused recover from trauma, acknowledge their guilt, and correct their mistakes while being monitored for potential reoffending. Psychosocial counseling clinics are available at courts nationwide, offering support to individuals reintegrating into society after temporary release or serving a suspended sentence. This approach aims to minimize public safety risks, build public confidence, and ensure that victims receive necessary psychological care.
