Dortmund: Borussia Dortmund has secured the services of Ethan Vaneri from Arsenal on a loan deal to cover for Yannis Constantelius, who is sidelined with a serious injury.
According to Thai News Agency, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder is set to undergo a medical examination before officially joining the Bundesliga club. This move, finalized on the last day of the transfer window, does not include an option to buy, aligning with all parties' interests for Vaneri to gain more playing time.
The urgency of the transfer arose after new recruit Yannis Constantelius suffered a significant ACL tear, necessitating a prolonged recovery period. This injury accelerated Dortmund's interest in Vaneri, leading to swift negotiations with Arsenal and the agreement of a loan deal.
Vaneri has not featured prominently in Arsenal's recent matches, missing out on the squad for the Community Shield victory over Manchester City and the away win against Aston Villa. He was also an unused substitute in the season opener against Coventry City. Last season, Vaneri spent the latter half on loan with Marseille, contributing 11 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
