Cambodia Intensifies Border Assaults on Thai Military Positions

Sisaket: Cambodia has intensified its military operations against Thai forces, employing artillery, BM21 missiles, and drones to target key Thai positions along the border. The 2nd Army Region reports ongoing bombardments, particularly at Pha Mor Ee Daeng cliff and surrounding areas. In response, Thailand has deployed F-16 fighter jets to counter the Cambodian offensives.

According to Thai News Agency, the border skirmishes have resulted in significant challenges for Thai forces. They have been unable to recover the bodies of soldiers from Hill 350 due to persistent Cambodian shelling with various weapons. The situation remains volatile, with Cambodian shells continuing to land in Ban Phum Salon and drone attacks persistently targeting Thai territory.

The 2nd Army Area Command provided a detailed summary of the situation as of December 18, 2025. Cambodian artillery shells have been reported near Ban Phum Salon and the entrance to Pha Mor E Daeng National Park in Sisaket Province. Thai forces' efforts to retrieve deceased soldiers from Hill 350 have been thwarted by Cambodian defenses, which include rifles, hand grenades, and landmines.

In Ubon Ratchathani Province, sporadic clashes have occurred, with both sides maintaining alertness. The Thai side has reinforced its presence along the Chong An Ma area and established security across Sisaket Province. F-16 aircraft have conducted airstrikes on Cambodian military installations, including a base housing BM-21 rocket launchers.

Tensions are particularly high around Pha Mor E Daeng - Huai Ta Maria, with Cambodian forces using mortars, artillery, and drones against Thai positions. Thai forces have retaliated with artillery and mortar fire, while detecting and countering numerous drone incursions.

The Phu Makheua area has witnessed Cambodian drone bombing operations, although Thai nets have successfully intercepted and neutralized some of these threats. Meanwhile, in Surin Province, the Thai military has seized strategic positions and reinforced troop deployments to counter Cambodian aggression.

Cambodian forces have used tanks, artillery, and BM-21 rockets in the Ta Kwai area, with extensive use of surveillance and FPV drones. Thai forces face challenges in retrieving bodies from Hill 350 due to strong Cambodian resistance.

In the Chong Krang area, Thai gunfire has been employed to suppress Cambodian tanks, while heavy bombardment and clashes continue in the Ta Muen Thom area. Unmanned aerial vehicles remain a persistent threat, maintaining surveillance over Thai territory.
