Tha Uthen: Border Patrol Police of Tha Uthen pursued a drug dealer who eventually lost control and crashed into a wall, leading to the arrest and seizure of over 120,000 methamphetamine pills.
According to Thai News Agency, officers from the 237th Border Patrol Police Company initiated the chase after receiving a tip-off regarding the transportation of methamphetamine pills in Sri Songkhram District, Nakhon Phanom Province. Acting on this information, they alerted their superiors and prepared ambush forces to monitor the expected drug-trafficking route. The ambush team, positioned near Ban Hat Phaeng School, spotted the suspect vehicle at around 11:00 p.m. as it drove past and turned towards Ban Kham Hai, Tambon Hat Phaeng, Amphoe Sri Songkhram, in Nakhon Phanom Province. Maintaining a discreet distance, the officers followed the vehicle to observe its movements.
Upon noticing the patrol vehicle's lights, the suspect attempted to flee by accelerating. However, the pursuit ended abruptly when the suspect vehicle crashed into a wall near Ban Kha Health Promoting Hospital, Nakhon Phanom Province. The officers witnessed three individuals fleeing the scene into a nearby rice field. A chase ensued, resulting in the apprehension of all three suspects.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a fertilizer sack behind the driver's seat, containing a significant quantity of methamphetamine pills. The suspects and the evidence were transported to the 237th Border Patrol Police Company headquarters for further investigation. Authorities confirmed the seizure of 60 bundles of narcotics, totaling approximately 120,000 pills, before transferring the case to Sri Songkhram Police Station for legal proceedings.
