Satun: Border Patrol Police Region 4, in collaboration with the local government, apprehended three suspects and seized almost 100,000 methamphetamine pills in Ban Huai Phrao, Langu District, within Satun Province. The operation was conducted in the midst of a rubber plantation, highlighting a significant effort to combat drug trafficking in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Narong Thananantakun, Commander of the Border Patrol Police Region 4, directed Pol. Col. Sek San Inthasit, Deputy Commander, to work with the 44th Border Patrol Police Investigation Unit and the Satun Provincial Administration. This operation followed intelligence that indicated the sale of over 100,000 drug pills in Satun Province.
The officers orchestrated a plan involving an undercover agent to purchase methamphetamine from Mr. Sakda, aged 35. The transaction was arranged sequentially, starting with Mr. Prawit, aged 21, in Tha Pae District, leading to a final delivery at a rubber plantation in Ban Huai Phrao, Village 11, Langu District. Mr. Jirawat, aged 46, served as the delivery man. The order consisted of 70 bundles, totaling 140,000 pills, with a street value of 1,365,000 baht.
During the operation, officers revealed their presence and arrested the trio, recovering 73,800 methamphetamine pills, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, a grey pickup truck, a brown sedan, a blue and white sedan, a fake license plate, a blue and red motorcycle, a black motorcycle, four mobile phones, five bank books, and a MasterCard. The suspects and evidence were transported to Langu Police Station for further legal action.
