Buriram: The Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) has announced that the "Forest Owner Camp" in Buriram province is currently missing ALRO 4-01 land title deeds, prompting an urgent verification of boundary lines and applicant qualifications.
According to Thai News Agency, the ALRO's inspection of the "Forest Lord Camp" revealed that approximately 6 rai of land has not yet been surveyed or issued with the necessary ALRO 4-01 land title. The current occupants submitted an application on August 6 to utilize the land, prompting ALRO to prepare for boundary line inspections alongside the Department of Forestry and assess the qualifications of the applicants in accordance with legal standards.
Mr. Setthakiat Krajangwong, Secretary-General of ALRO, disclosed the findings following instructions from Mr. Watcharaphol Khaokham, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The investigation revealed that no ALRO 4-01 documents had been issued for the land, which includes a half-concrete, half-wooden house and areas designated for residential and agricultural use. The Lam Nang Rong Subdistrict Administrative Organization confirmed there was no registration or tax payment for lodging, hotel, or resort business on the property.
A significant water source north of the area was identified as a reservoir, originally a natural water source, enhanced by the Royal Irrigation Department. The Buriram Land Reform Office is currently reviewing an application for land use permission, with ALRO prioritizing two main actions: inspecting boundaries with the Royal Forest Department and considering the land use application under existing laws and criteria.
Should the applicant fail to meet legal standards, ALRO will instruct them to vacate the land and dismantle any structures. Non-compliance will lead to legal action, with the ALRO Secretary-General emphasizing that all relevant evidence will be collected to ensure lawful land allocation that benefits farmers.
