Bangkok: Apple has officially launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, marking a significant leap in flagship smartphone technology with the introduction of an adjustable aperture system in the main camera. This groundbreaking feature is complemented by upgraded processors, enhanced batteries, and advanced cooling systems, promising a new level of professional-grade performance.
According to Thai News Agency, the iPhone 18 Pro series introduces a 48MP Fusion Camera with an adjustable aperture, a first for iPhones. This innovative camera automatically adjusts its aperture using six aperture blades, optimizing photo quality in low-light conditions and offering professional photographers greater depth of field control. Users can also manually adjust the aperture in four levels via the camera app.
The devices are powered by the A20 Pro chip, built with 2nm technology and featuring a 32-core Neural Engine. This advancement accelerates AI tasks by up to two times and includes a 40% more powerful GPU. Additionally, the new cooling system, equipped with a next-generation vapor chamber, enhances heat management, allowing the phones to operate 40% longer under heavy usage without overheating.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max also boasts the longest battery life in iPhone history, capable of playing video for up to 43 hours and achieving a 50% charge in just 15 to 30 minutes. The design has been refreshed with a smaller Dynamic Island that can display up to three live activities simultaneously, and the introduction of a new Burgundy color adds to its aesthetic appeal.
Camera innovations extend to real-time image verification tools, including the Apple Reference Image feature. This tool facilitates the verification of original images against manipulated or AI-created ones, supporting the SynthID standard for detailed image verification.
The A20 Pro chip further enhances performance with a 50% increase in memory bandwidth and improved connectivity through the N1 chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and the C2 modem for faster data uploads and reduced power consumption.
In Thailand, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are available in Burgundy, Ice Blue, Silver, and Black, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB. Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro starts at 48,900 baht, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at 52,900 baht.
