Wang Thonglang:”Mae Phat,” who claims to have been unlawfully confined at a senior care center in Kanchanaburi province, has filed a complaint at Wang Thonglang Police Station against those involved in her detention and physical assault.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, founder of the “Sai Mai Must Survive” Facebook page, accompanied Ms. Phat to the police station to pursue charges. She intends to file charges against everyone involved, including volunteer officers who allegedly abducted her from her home in Ladprao and took her to the care center. At the center, she was reportedly threatened, physically assaulted, and unlawfully detained by “Jae Maew.” Ms. Phat also plans to take legal action against her son, whom she suspects ordered these actions.
Ms. Phat recounted the day of her abduction, noting that her son and daughter were present but did not assist her. During her stay at the center, she suffered multiple incidents of physical abuse, including being punched and beaten with a paddle.
Mr. Ekkapop explained that the complaint was filed at Wang Thonglang Police Station because it is the jurisdiction where the incident initially occurred. It remains the police’s decision whether to keep the case there or transfer it to the Crime Suppression Division. Ms. Phat expressed distrust toward Tha Muang Police Station, fearing bias due to connections between the center’s staff and local police officers.
