Sa kaeo: The Veterans Network of three provinces-Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri, and Nakhon Nayok-alongside the Human Rights Organization Association, has publicly announced its support for the construction of a border wall between Thailand and Cambodia. They are also advocating for the permanent closure of the border and checkpoints.
According to Thai News Agency, this morning in Nong Ya Kaew, residents resumed their daily routines after dealing with disruptions caused by heavy rain and strong winds the previous evening. The inclement weather resulted in fallen trees and power outages from approximately 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Officials worked diligently to restore electricity during this period.
Mae Thongmee, a resident of Ban Nong Ya Kaew, expressed that frequent power outages have been a concern in the past. However, this time, the situation at the Thai-Cambodian border added to her worries. When the power went out, her daughter, who is working abroad, was unable to reach her due to the lack of a signal, causing anxiety until the power was restored.
At the Ban Nong Chan checkpoint, local residents and media have been closely monitoring events. Support has also been extended by locals and agencies from other areas. The Association of Human Rights and War Veterans Organizations from the three provinces presented gift baskets to military personnel, acknowledging their role in protecting the nation. They reinforced their backing for the construction of a border wall, permanent border closures, and the cessation of water and electricity supply to certain areas, urging Cambodians to vacate regions under Thai sovereignty. The use of loudspeakers was defended as a legitimate measure to boost military morale on Thai soil.
In a separate observation, three mobile movie theater trucks were found parked in front of the Ban Nong Chan checkpoint. Each truck represents a different film studio from the central region, and they remain stationary, awaiting further instructions. Further clarification on this matter is anticipated.
