The temple is home to the 403rd Special Forces Unit, which caused a loud noise that startled the monks and soldiers inside the temple. The teenagers then quickly rode away on their motorcycles.
According to Thai News Agency, at the scene in the grass at the three-way intersection next to the temple wall, officials found pieces of red paper used to wrap giant firecrackers along with black electrical tape, which they collected as evidence. The cause is believed to be a disturbance by high-spirited teenagers after learning that tomorrow (February 23), Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phumtham Vejjayachai and former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will lead a group to Narathiwat Province.
