Surin province: Shocking revelations have emerged as the scammer's empire known as "Orsamed" has been uncovered. The director of the Thai-Cambodian Situation Information Center (JIC), Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sonjaidee, led Thai and international media on a tour of the 500-rai (approximately 80-acre) estate, unveiling a shocking network of 157 buildings. Among the discoveries were a fully simulated police station, complete with uniforms, interrogation scenes, and scripts designed to deceive victims. Additionally, a unique "operating room" resembling a hospital was found, raising suspicions that it may have been used for organ transplants on victims who failed to meet quotas. As of September 8th, it marks nine months since the Thai military took control of the area, with reports of dilapidated, flooded buildings and moldy food.
According to Thai News Agency, the Chong Chom permanent border crossing point in Dan Subdistrict, Kab Choeng District, Surin Province, served as the entry point for a delegation of ASEAN observers and members of the press. The purpose was to inspect the area under Thai troop control following the second round of Thai-Cambodian fighting. This inspection followed the joint statement of December 27, 2025, which mandated the deployment of troops to their current positions. The area, near O'Semet in Cambodia, is a large-scale smuggling operation spanning over 500 rai of land, housing more than 157 buildings, 29 of which were used by scammers.
Currently, Thai soldiers have taken measures at the Chong Chom permanent border crossing point by covering the gate with black netting. This was in response to Cambodian soldiers frequently using binoculars to observe the area where Thai soldiers are stationed, aiming to create false narratives and provocations. Since the installation of the black netting, these provocations have been significantly reduced.
The necessity for Thai soldiers to take control of the area arose because Cambodian soldiers used the building as a sniper firing position against Thai troops during the fighting. Consequently, it was essential for Thai soldiers to attack, resulting in the current control of the entire area.
In previous tours conducted by the JIC director, media groups explored scammer locations in zones A and E, which featured simulated police stations from various countries, online scam offices, an underground prison, a hospital, and entertainment venues. Today's tour focused on a further exploration of zone A.
Among the highlights shown to journalists was Zhongnan Hospital, the only hospital in the scammer territory, believed to treat high-ranking Chinese officials. Inside, they found an operating room. Information from the Royal Thai Police indicates that this operating room may have been used for the surgical removal of organs from scammers who failed to meet sales targets. These organs were then sold for profit, a practice considered extremely cruel.
Additionally, a replica police station was uncovered, used for deception with officers from various countries including China, Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The facility included complete scripts for deception, police uniforms from different nations, a simulated interrogation room, and pictures of suspect arrests to make it as realistic as possible.
Furthermore, examination rooms were found, used to assess scammers and their learning methods.
Reporters noted that September 8th will mark nine months since Thai soldiers took control. Currently, nothing has been moved out, and the buildings damaged by the attacks remain in severe disrepair. Some buildings are flooded, belongings are deteriorating, and food is moldy.
