According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pongsiayam Meekhantong, Deputy Commander of the Tourist Police, revealed that during the Songkran festival in 2026, when a large number of tourists are traveling in and out of the country, he has instructed officers to closely monitor the security situation at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He emphasized that all units must perform their duties rigorously and continuously to build confidence among tourists.
The Tourist Police Division 3, Sub-Division 3, Tourist Police Bureau 1 has deployed tourist police officers along with interpreters to provide assistance and ensure the safety of both Thai and foreign tourists with courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Tourist Police emphasized key operational guidelines, including increasing the frequency of crime prevention patrols in crowded passenger areas, providing proactive services to facilitate tourists quickly, and promoting the use of the Thailand Tourist Police Application so that tourists can access assistance 24 hours a day.
In addition, officers continue to conduct proactive outreach activities at various service points within the airport, such as the international baggage claim areas, to introduce the Tourist Police application and raise awareness that “Thai Tourist Police” are ready to ensure safety at every step throughout this festive season.
