His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen performed royal merit-making by offering Kathin robes at Wat Phra Phutthabat, Saraburi Province. Today (28 October 2024) at 4:32 p.m., His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen traveled by royal vehicle from Amphorn Sathan Throne Hall, Dusit Palace to the helicopter field, Chitlada Palace, Dusit Palace, to board the royal helicopter and proceed to the royal merit-making ceremony of offering Kathin robes at Wat Phra Phutthabat, Phra Phutthabat District, Saraburi Province. On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, the Prince of Songkla also attended the event. Upon arrival at the temporary helicopter field, the sports field of Wat Phra Phutthabat Kindergarten School, Phra Phutthabat District, Saraburi Province, the honor guard paid their respects and the band played the Royal Anthem. There, Mr. Durongrit Siriwattanaphan, Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, along with government officials and members of the public, waited at the feet of His Majesty to welcome them. Then, His Majesty entered the chapel, placed the monk's robe on the tray in front of the monk's seat, and proceeded to offer the golden tree, the silver tree, and the incense sticks and candles to worship the principal Buddha image of the chapel. His Majesty the King then traveled to pay homage to the footprint of the Lord Buddha on 14 January 1976 and 26 October 1976, and on 21 July 1999, he represented His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great to perform the ceremony of raising the royal crown to be installed on the top of the Buddha footprint pavilion and to celebrate the Buddha footprint in Saraburi Province on the occasion of the joint renovation of the Buddha footprint pavilion by the Wat Phra Phutthabat and the Fine Arts Department to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 6th cycle birthday anniversary on 5 December 1999. On the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2024, His Majesty has graciously designated the date for the Kathin robe offering ceremony at Wat Phra Phutthabat, Phra Phutthabat District, Saraburi Province, to continue the royal intention of His Majesty the King's parents and His Majesty the King's mother to nurture Buddhism to flouri sh and bring prosperity to the country. Then, His Majesty left the Phra Mondop Roi Phra Phutthabat and took the royal vehicle to the temporary helicopter field at the Wat Phra Phutthabat Kindergarten Sports Stadium to board the royal helicopter and return.
