Pathum thani: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao has reiterated that the current year's situation regarding water management is under control, ensuring that the catastrophic floods of 2011 will not be repeated. The Prime Minister has issued directives for strict water management in the provinces of Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Col. Thammanat recently visited Pathum Thani Province to oversee government affairs. During his visit, he disclosed that he engaged in a lengthy discussion lasting over three to four hours with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on November 5th. Thammanat clarified that the discussion was solely focused on water management issues, distancing it from any political matters such as the dissolution of Parliament or no-confidence motions.
The Prime Minister has expressed his concern over water management and has instructed all relevant agencies to diligently monitor and manage water resources, especially in Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan. These provinces are pivotal as they are major water sources from different directions. The Prime Minister assured, "This year, there will definitely not be a repeat of the major flooding of 2011. We are fully prepared and confident that we can handle any situation."
